Obituary for Jason K Fitzsimons

Jason Kelly Fitzsimons, a Deputy Sheriff with the Broward County Police Department, died unexpectedly on April 1st at the age of 42.
Jason is survived by his mother and step-father, Jennifer and Craig Bannecke, his daughter, Juliette Fitzsimons, his brother Casey Fitzsimons, half-brothers Joe and Mike Fitzsimons and half-sister Susan Boyd. He is predeceased by his father, Joseph Fitzsimons.
Jason was born in Cleburne, TX on August 12, 1975. He graduated from Eastside High School in Taylors, SC in 1993 and moved to Broward County the following year.
Jason was a devoted Deputy Sheriff who took his job to protect and serve his community very seriously. Outside of work was another story. Jason lived life to its fullest and enjoyed spending time loving on his many friends. He dreamed to one day be Batman or Kenny Chesney, and you could often find him singing at a local karaoke night or taking selfies while under the disguise of the caped crusader. He had a special place in his heart for his four-legged furry friends and seemed to always be adopting or fostering a pet in need.
Jason was known by his friends as someone who was always there for them. He always seemed to have the right words for them and attributed his wisdom to the faith he had in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on April 6 at The Church at Deerfield Beach located at 701 NE 2nd Street in Deerfield Beach, FL. The family will accept visitors beginning at 10:30 am and the celebration of Jason's life will begin at 11:30. Reverend Melvin Davison will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make donations to your local pet adoption agency.
