I first met Josh online in 2015, when Josh was playing an online game tournament, representing a forum. I ended up joining that forum afterwards, and have hang out with Josh in it ever since. Though I have never met Josh in real life, I have always though Josh was a very kind and caring person. My sincere condolences to Josh's family and friends.

I had the blessing of having been in an online community with Josh for the past decade or so. Josh was kind, caring, hilariously funny, and brilliant. While we never met IRL, I truly considered Josh a real friend. Knowing Josh made my life better. As we say in the Jewish tradition: May the memory of Joshua Marcum be for blessing.

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Josh 4 years ago. He was such a wonderful son to Ella and was always looking out for her they had such a beautiful relationship. I always told Josh he missed his calling and should have been a chef. He would always be making something. I’ll never forget the sauce he made for my steak and I still can’t get it to taste the way he made it. He was a quiet person but a kind person. I’ll miss my cappuccino’s he’d make me at Sunrise. Spread your wings Josh and I won’t say good by I’ll say see you later.

It has been years upon years since I had spoken to or see Josh. While that leaves me with no recent memories, I read over these memories of so many lives he impacted in such an everlasting way, and think back to my own memories.
In elementary school Josh was a quiet classmate. Quiet, but when he spoke, it was worth hearing. Being in a class with twins was interesting—and twins that were so different yet alike at the same time. Both intelligent, wise beyond their years—transplanted from another world into our own. Josh was quiet while Zach always had a story to share, loud and boisterous. It was as though they fit together in a balance of each other.

May every soul that was touched by Josh’s quiet, yet meaningful presence, look back on time shared with fond memories. May his family remember him with joy, even through the grief, knowing that his time in this world was that of meaning and purpose.

Love to all, always, as we reflect on a life lost too soon.
