Richard had a good heart, I can not recall him ever saying anything derogatory about anyone.
He was a good American a good friend and I believe his life was a very moral life.
Richard wanted to retire up here in Atlanta, in his house which I got to help him remodel into a very neat little comfortable home. He really liked his place up here. We had plans to do some fun things together after he retired and was moved up here. I’m going to miss that and I’m never going to forget him.
I believe Richard’s sole is now with God. I believe he is in a much better place, at last!
PEACE, to you my friend Richard Elie, we all love you.

We are very sad to say goodbye to Rick. He was a kind and gentle soul who shared our love of dogs. We first met him at the dog park where we spent many afternoons enjoying our fur babies and each other. He used to bring his beloved Sophie there every day. Now that he is no longer in pain, may he rest in peace.

Many of us have lost a great friend. It is still very difficult to grasp the idea that he is no longer among us.
I met Rick at the dog park many years ago. We would watch the dogs play and have conversations of all kinds of topics. Over time we created a circle of friends that would meet at the same times and share experiences or just whatever happened during the day. Rick loved his dog Sophie tremendously. As we got to know each other, I offered to take care of Sophie during his business trips. Who wouldn’t love Sophie. She was always sweet. But the day came where Sophie was older, got sick and eventually died. Then a friend from our circle, father Phil, got sick and needed to be hospitalized and later died. Rick’s love for animals just pushed him to take over father Phil’s dog Tino. As Sophie was gone, Rick started pouring his love into Tino, took him on trips and just enjoyed his company. Two years ago Tino died and Rick had been lonely since then, but knew it was not a good moment to get another dog.

I’m still thinking back when Rick asked me a few weeks ago to take him to the hospital, because he had so much pain that he didn’t dare to drive. Who would have thought that the result of that would be a very aggressive stage 4 pancreatic cancer that would take his life! He said to me: “I’m not ready to go”.

Rick will always have a special place in my heart. His unconditional friendship, his love for the California deserts, his passion for his profession, his interesting conversations and his humor.

Wherever you are, my dear friend, I hope you watch over us and don’t forget us.

We will miss you!

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” - Revelation 24:4
"Think of a land of no sorrow,
Think of a land of no fears,
Think of no death and no sickness,
Think of a land of no tears."

You will be missed!

My deepest sorrow goes out to Ric's family and friends. Ric was a special friend and gave good advice. He took my Sophie and gave her the amazing life I couldn't. He will be missed.
