Obituary for Steven Elliot Blonde

Beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, Steve Blonde passed away in South Florida this past Saturday.
Born in New York, Steve grew up with his parents Marilyn Löwenstein and Harvey Blonde in Brooklyn until he was 7, after which the Blonde family moved to North Miami Beach where they would live and build a family.

Along with his sister, Claudine, Steve grew up in South Florida, where he would eventually meet his first partner Phyllis with whom he shares a daughter - Dara - and Alicia with whom he had two children - Erica and Lauren.

Steve is remembered throughout his life for his kindness, keen sense of humor, detailed memory, deep empathy, and a love of all animals, especially dogs. He lived for his children and the time they spent together; coaching soccer teams, going for ice cream, trying new restaurants he found in the newspaper. He never missed an opportunity, big or small, to participate in their lives when he could, and he cherished sharing stories of his girls.

He was a loving partner and friend, always remembering the small details of the lives of those around him, and asking about those details often. His love of reading (the paper and the news especially) and sharing about what he read will be remembered and sustained by his children to whom he passed on this hobby.

In his later years, he remarried to his wife Lorraine Berkson - the two married in June 2022 in a small ceremony in their friends home with their children. The two enjoyed 3 and a half years of adventure and joy, and his memory will be kept alive by the love they shared.

To honor his memory, anyone who wishes to donate please consider making a donation to the Humane Society of Broward County in his name, a place where Steve went often with his family to give food and treats to dogs and from where they adopted their family pets throughout his life.
